The Citizens Campaign is a proud participant in next week's Open Data NJ Summit at Montclair State University on Thursday, May 15. Journalists, watchdogs, citizens and government officials are invited to engage in a conversation about how we can make government data publicly available, and in usable forms, in NJ.
Jennifer Borg, general counsel for the North Jersey Media Group, and Paul D'Ambrosio, director of News and Investigations for the Asbury Park Press, are two of the key speakers. Other speakers will include OPRA activist John Paff, Waldo Jaquith of the U.S. Open Data Institute, Mark Headd, who until recently was Chief Data Officer for the City of Philadelphia and Heather Taylor of The Citizens Campaign.
There will be break-out sessions on how to find public data in NJ, a hands-on workshop in data mapping, sunshine in public meetings and the ABCs of helping towns go digital.
